Peri Didaxeon

Harley 6258B

This manuscript from the late twelfth century contains a number of medical tracts including the Peri didaxeon.  This treatise is a translation into Late Old English of parts of the Practica Petrocelli Salernitani, a non-Salernitan collection of medical treatises.  The earliest continental manuscript witness of this compilation that has been identified so far is ninth century; the Practica is thought to have reached England in the eleventh century.
